The brewers really blew it this time! Energized by attending the Craft Brewers Conference, they ordered a whole array of new hop varieties. Some of these hops are so new they are called Experiment 05256 P90. Distracted by the overwhelming aromas from these new hops, the brewers mistakenly dumped ALL of these wonderful hops into the kettle. The result is this over the top double IPA to celebrate American Craft Beer Week. that focuses on Hop Flavor rather than an assaulting bitterness.

Expect a massive aroma, from a two stage dry hop; melon and tangerine lead with a background of herbaceous grassy notes. On tasting “X” you will get an explosion of tropical, dank, and citrus notes with an underpinning of candy sweet alcohol, and bready malt. This beerfocuses on hop flavor rather than an assaulting bitterness and is extremely dry and dangerously quaffable, weighing in at 8.5% ABV

Brewed with pilsner and CaraPils malts and overhopped with Apollo, Summit, Simcoe, Chinook and of course….Experiment 05256 P90 hops.
19.1 Plato, 76 IBU, 8.5% abv

Join us for the first pour of Experiment X on Thursday May 16th, 5:30PM at CB Brewing Company. This beer is a brewery exclusive and will only be available at CB Brewing Company.

This beer was conceived from a chance interaction. Answering a random phone call to the brewery, I was asked “do you have any use for black currant juice?” My reply, “no, but I will find one” brought this bottle to your hand.

In the tradition of centuries of European brewing, we decided that blending the cassis juice with a Belgian-Style wheat beer was a natural course of action. The finest European Pilsner malt with malted and unmalted wheat form the base of this fine ale. The subtle flavors of German hops build on the fine malt base. A final touch is added with the addition of cold pressed cassis juice and wildflower honey, both sourced from local farms. We hope you have as much fun enjoying this fine ale as we had creating it! Cheers. 7.8% abv, 39 IBU
